Training Dogs. Supporting Humans. Building Community.
EMILY STODDARD
Emily has devoted her life to helping dogs and their people build stronger relationships—especially when things feel overwhelming or impossible. Her journey into dog training began with Sandy, a reactive Yellow Lab who struggled with aggression. After seeing how punitive methods fell short, Emily sought a better way—and found it.
She began her professional career as an apprentice at The Anti-Cruelty Society, where she quickly rose to Senior Instructor, then worked in the Animal Behavior Department, rehabilitating dogs for adoption. Her passion for learning never stopped. Through years of hands-on experience and mentorship from leading trainers, she built a comprehensive, science-based training approach grounded in compassion, clarity, and communication.
Emily launched Canine Sports Dog Training to bring that approach to more families. Today, she’s not only a trusted trainer, but a mentor to other professionals and a sought-after speaker worldwide. Her gift lies in translating complex behavior into practical, life-changing results—for dogs and their people. Whether you're facing fear, frustration, or want to connect better with your dog, Emily is here to help you build trust, skills, and joy together.
NATALIE RIDGE
Natalie’s approach to dog training is equal parts science, empathy, and heart. Her love of dogs began early—training her first Bernese Mountain Dog as a junior handler—but it was her American Pit Bull Terrier, Athena, who sparked her professional journey. After enrolling in a puppy class at The Anti-Cruelty Society, Natalie dove into their apprenticeship program, where she met Emily and began her path as a trainer.
During that time, she also rescued Guinness, a highly aggressive ex-fighting dog. Working with Guinness deepened Natalie’s understanding of behavior and strengthened her commitment to helping other dog owners navigate even the toughest challenges. Her experience as a veterinary assistant further reinforced the deep connection between behavior, health, and emotional well-being.
With a background in education and a love of learning theory, Natalie brings clarity and creativity to her sessions. She believes in building a shared language between dogs and their humans—so both feel seen, heard, and empowered. Her methods are innovative and adaptable, designed to meet dogs where they are and help them thrive. Clients love her warmth, insight, and ability to turn stress into confidence.
EMILY O’KEEFE
Emily understands what it’s like to love a dog who struggles—and how transformational good training can be. Her dog Roscoe had a fear of children, and when she and her husband decided to grow their family, Emily knew she had to help him adapt. Through patience, work, and guidance from expert trainers, Roscoe became the confident big brother he was meant to be.
That experience led Emily to an apprenticeship with The Anti-Cruelty Society and later to a role as a group class instructor. Her strong communication skills, attention to detail, and genuine care for people and their pets made her a natural fit for the Canine Sports team. As Office Manager, Emily is the heart of the client experience—from your first phone call to scheduling, support, and follow-up.
She’s also a trained instructor, able to step into sessions and guide both dogs and humans with skill and compassion. Whether she’s organizing logistics or offering hands-on support, Emily makes sure every part of your training journey is thoughtful, smooth, and grounded in kindness.
